Rohann Eliza (Daviss) Collett was the daughter of William Riley Daviss (b. 16 May 1809 Decatur, Morgan Co., Ala. d. 15 June 1877 Freestone County, Texas) and Nancy Margaret Philpott (b. 14 Sept. 1813 Lincoln Co., TN. d. 27 Apr 1905 Freestone County, TX.) Eliza was the third wife of James Hamilton Collett and they had children of their own but she and J. H. raised his two children, Mary Collett (Munger) & Maggie Collett (Morris), by his second wife, Margaret Ann (Daviss) Collett also Eliza's sister.
