Mr. Donson, who worked in the advertising department of the Pepsi Cola plant in Harrisonburg 15 years, had been in failing health several-months.
He was born Sept, 3, 1916 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Bernie and Mattie Lee Zirkle Donson.
He served in the Army during World War II and was a member of Carl D. Lee Veterans of Foreign Wars Post at Mt. Clinton and the First United Methodist Church at Broadway.
On Jan. 2, 1942, he married Madeline Caplinger Donson, Who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Vanessa Lynn Donson of Charlottesville and Mrs. Andra Lee Borrell of Staunton, and a sister, Mrs. Billy M. Hulvey of Broadway.
The funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church at Broadway by the Rev. Arthur Hastings and Wesley Poland. Burial will be in Linville Creek Cemetery.
The casket will not be opened.
The body it at the. Rhodes Funeral Home in Broadway, but the family will receive friends at the Donson home.
In lieu Of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Broadway Emergency Squad.
