Military services for Arthur Thomas Decker, 76, Waynesville, who died Saturday, June 9, 1984 were at 2 pm. Tuesday, June 12, in the chapel of Garrett Funeral Home.

Military Chaplain from Fort Bragg and the Revs. Bennett Walker and Van Green officiated. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

A native of Burlington, he was a son of the late Joe and Flora Shannon Decker. A retired master sergeant with the U.S. Army, he received the Good Conduct Medal with bronze clasp and four loops, the American Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal three stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He was a resident of Waynesville for the past 20 years.

He had been in the hospital since March, he had a heart condition. He was retired from the service.

He leaves his wife, Ann of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Tom Knowles, Wichita; three sons, Paul Decker and Bob Decker, Coffeyville, and Roy Decker, Littleton, Co.

His oldest son Edward was killed in a motorcycle accident along with his wife Helen a few years back.

He also leaves four brothers, Clarence, Topeka, Elvin, Emporia, Virgil and Lester Decker, Burlington; two sisters, Hazel Ridpath, Wichita, and Gladys Mays, Burlington.
