Third wife of Abner Thorp, whom she married August 12th 1809 as the widow of John Osborn. She lived to 87 years of age. She was thought to be the mother of Anna Thorp Grandy, grandmother of Zeruia Grandy Mount Van Patten, great grandmother of William Van Patten, 2X great grandmother of Ruth Van Patten Peck and 3X great grandmother of Ruth's children including Dave Peck pictured at right. However it is now believed that Abner's second wife Jael Harmon was Anna's mother.
Sarah's children were:
"Harriet Thorp born Sept. 20, 1810.
Jane born Dec. 25, 1812.
Mary born Sept. 6, 1813. died Jan.
6, 1820.
Hariet Thorp married a Hiram
Grandy and was living in Charleston,
N. Y. in 1855. They later went to
California.
Abner Thorp's third wife Sarah
Green Osborn Thorp died March 19,
1869, age 87 years. Was Abner Thorp
a Revolutionary soldier? Perhaps
some one connected with the family
of Abner Thorp through marriage
can give me some information regarding
this family.
