Wesley R. Aurand, 80, of Elgin Avenue, Dundee, died this morning at this home after a long illness. He was born in Hampshire September 28, 1873, the son of Abraham and Sarah Baker Aurand. He spent many years farming in the Hampshire area, later moving to Elgin. For the last 32 years he has been a resident of Dundee. On September 28, 1897, he married Minnie Phillips who survives. Also surviving are eight children, Mrs. Fred (Ernestine) Raddatz, Elgin; Mrs. Emil (Nina) Ingwall Hansen, of Elgin; Mrs. Russell (Violet) Markham of Fox River Heights, Mrs Ben (Margaret) Markham of Dundee; George of Elgin, Louis of Carpentersville, Harry of Bensenville and Walter of Dundee. A sister, Mrs. Lydia Samuelson of Hampshire, 42 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by two sons and a daughter. Mr. Aurand was a member of the Dundee Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 at Mille Funeral Home in Dundee, with Rev. Merrill officiating. Burial will be in the Hampshire Cemetery.
