GAFFNEY,S.C. – Mrs.Grace Carswell Allison,80,of Rt.1,Gaffney, died Sunday at Cherokee County Memorial Hospital. A native of McDowell County,N.C., she had lived in Gaffney for 20 years.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew J.Allison; two sons, Max Pearson of Gastonia,N.C., and Clifford Pearson of Kings Mountain,N.C.; one daughter, Mrs.Amy P.Luckadoo of Shelby,N.C.; two stepsons, J.D. and Paul Allison of Gaffney; four stepdaughters, Mrs.Piney Martin, Mrs.Loy Teague and Mrs.Garrison McCraw of Gaffney and Mrs.Earl Moss of Valdese; two brothers, Arthur and Jack Carswell of Gastonia,N.C.; five sisters, Mrs.Clyde Freeman, Mrs.Maude Cash, Mrs.Ross Crisp and Mrs.Harvey Cantrell of Gastonia,N.C., and Mrs.Ruby Parratt of Greensboro,N.C.; 11 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m.at East Gaffney Baptist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev.George Lockaby.
Burial will be in Flint Hills Baptist Church cemetery in Cleveland County,N.C.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 tonight at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home in Gaffney.
