FLOYD R. SKEESUCK
Floyd R. Skeesuck, 87, Grand Rapids, died Monday, May 20, 1991 at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, MN.
He was born June 6, 1903, in Long Prairie, MN and moved with his family to Backus, MN at the age of 7 where he grew up and attended schools.
He was married to Stella Elyea on January 7, 1928 in Backus. Following their marriage, they moved to Boone, Iowa where they lived for years before returning to Backus. In 1952 they moved from Backus to Grand Rapids. While in Grand Rapids he worked for the Hanna Mining Co. retiring in 1968. He attended the Church of the Nazarene in Grand Rapids and Backus.
Survivors include his wife Stella; five daughters, Pearl Alexander, of Grand Rapids, Delores Alexander of St. Louis Park, Barbara Sapp of Rocklin, Calif., Twyla Laughlin of Naperville, IL, Linda Simons of Blaine; one son, Floyd D. Skeesuck of Ontario, Ore.; 22 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Services were 2 pm Wednesday at the Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Terrill Haddix officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery in Backus, MN.
