Funeral services for Travis Lee Hurry, 93, of North Zulch were held on Jan. 9 at the Willowhold Chapel in North Zulch. Rev. Paul Dickson officiated. Burial was in the Willowhole Cemetery. Hurry was born June 11, 1910 in Madisonville to Captain Mosley and Eliza Coleman Hurry and died on Tuesday, Jan. 6 in Madisonville. He lived most of his life in Madison County and North Zulch and was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Zulch. He was a 50 year member of the North Zulch Masonic Lodge number 593 AF and AM. He served on the North Zulch Independent School District School Board for many years. During World War II he worked at Los Alamos, N.M. Hurry was a distinguished Alumni of the North Zulch High School. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Hurry and a son, Bobby Hurry and two half-brothers, R.W. Weatherford and Charles Weatherford. Survivors include his wife, Louise Hurry of North Zulch; one daughter, Dolores Allphin and husband Gene of North Zulch; one stepdaughter, LaMuriel Sharp and husband Datus of Madisonville; one stepson, Jerry Wester of Madisonville; grandchildren, Benny and Shari Allphin and Tammy and Nathan Gilbert all of North Zulch; six step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and five step great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Nathan Gilbert, Jess Gilbert, Benny Allphin, Michael Allphin, David Vaughn and Kenneth (Red) Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Mr. Hurry's Sunday School Class of the First Baptist Church n North Zulch. Memorials may be made to the North Zulch Education Foundation, P.O.
