Born on September 12, 1870 in Fair Port, Ohio. In 1888 he joined his uncle in Lake Worth, Florida to work in the family store. Married to Marion O. Platt on August 21, 1901. Prior to his being a deputy sheriff in Miami he had been marshal of West Palm Beach from 1904-1909. On June 2, 1915 he was shot and killed by Bob Ashley in an aborted attempt to break his brother out of jail. Deputy sheriff Hendrickson's name is inscribed on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington, D.C. (West Wall, Panel 56, Line 8).
