Catherine Drips was born during the course of the Battle of Pierre's Hole, which occurred at the conclusion of the historic mountain-man/trapper/American Indian rendezvous of July 1832.

At the time of this historic event, Pierre's Hole
was located in the territory jointly shared by Great Britain and the United States. In the US, this unorganized territory was known as the "Oregon Country", and to the English, it was known as the "Columbia District".

Today, "Pierre's Hole" is known as "Teton Basin", which is located near Driggs, in Teton Co., ID (just west of the "Great Continental Divide").
=====
On 31 January 1853, Catherine Drips married William Mulkey at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Kansas City, MO.
=====
Their daughter, Mary Celeste Mulkey, was born on 28 May 1857 in Kansas City, MO. She was probably deceased by 1860, as she did not appear in William & Catherine Mulkey's census return for that year.
