Frank Cook Ross was born at America City, Kansas, June 19, 1881, the second son of Wibur C. and Gwynnis Cook Ross. When he was 3 years old his father passed away. During the years of his boyhood and early manhood he lived with his grandparents in Colorado where at an early age he was baptized in the Methodist faith.
He was educated in the Alexandria, Neb., school and later was graduated from Business College in Stanton, Va., and was later employed as bookkeeper in the Alderson Bank, Alderson, W. Va.
May 16, 1917 he was united in marriage to Della Peck of Union, West Va. They established their home on a farm north of Havensville where they remained until Sept., 1948, when they moved to Havensville because of failing health. Due to his vitality and determination he continued his interests and activities in life until a short time before his death. After a week of illness, he passed away May 25, 1951 at the age of 69 years, 11 mos., 25 days.
He is survived by his faithful and devoted wife; his son Francis; his brother Clarence of Fairview, Wash.; a half-sister, Flossie Kelty of Long Beach, Calif.; a half-brother, Robert Knox of Westmoreland; a grandson, Leon Ross; and other relatives and friends. One sister, Maude, and a half-brother Nattie Knox, preceded him in death. He leaves to his family and friends the memory of a beautiful life which found expression in unselfish love and self sacrificing devotion.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church by Rev. Knapp. Pallbearers were Herman Mohringer, Delbert Channel, Vincent Abrams, Herbert Post, Ed Flaherty and Albert Proctor. Burial was in the Havensville cemetery.
