Galyon, Stanley C., age 77, of the Paint Rock community, Philadelphia, TN died Monday, April 29, 2002, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center of cancer. A sixth generation Roane countian, he was born September 21, 1924 in Paint Rock to James and Thelma Galyon. He served his country in the Navy during WWII. He was a graduate of Kingston High School and Middle Tennessee State University. He was a former math teacher and basketball coach at Midway and London high schools. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Oliver and Thurlow; and an infant daughter. Survivors include: wife of 43 years: Norma Jean Galyon; two sons: Barry and Lewis Galyon; a daughter-in-law; and two grandchildren. The body is at Kyker Funeral Home, Sweetwater, where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, with the funeral services to follow at 8:00 p.m. in Kyker's Chapel with Rev. Larry Dye officiating. Family and friends will meet at 1:45 p.m. Friday at the Edgemon
Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. interment service. Kyker Funeral Home in Sweetwater is serving the Galyon family.
