James Harvey "Jim" Hollingsworth was born 4 Jun 1850 (per Bible records) in Hampton, Calhoun Co, AR, the 4th of 10 children of Harrison & Anna (Oliver) Hollingsworth. He married Alice Grace Reynolds in Johnson Co TX on 15 Aug 1875. Living in Ellis Co TX in the 1890s, the family moved to Haskell Co TX and were early settlers there, buying land near the Jud Community in 1903.

Jim was well known as an honest, down-to-earth and dependable farmer. Stories were told to his great grandsons 80 years after the fact by elderly men who had occasion to know first-hand of Jim's principles and how he lived them.

Jim had an operation 14 Nov 1928, died of bronchopneumonia in Knox City TX on 18 Nov 1928 and was buried in the Rochester Cemetery the next day.

His death certificate indicates he was 74y 5m 14d at death.
