George Pratt Ingersoll (1861-1927) George Pratt Ingersoll, son of Colin Macrae Ingersoll and father of Colin Montaigne Ingersoll, was born in New Haven, New Haven County, Conn., April 24, 1861. He was a great-great grandson of the Rev. Jonathan Ingersoll, who was the second minister of the First Congregational Church in Ridgefield and, though he was an Episcopalian, his house was right across West Lane from the First Congregational Church. He married Alice Witherspoon on November 3, 1891. He was a lawyer, a Democrat, and an unsuccessful candidate for Congress from Connecticut at-large in 1910. He served as the U.S. Minister to Siam, 1917-18, and once entertained a prince of Siam at his home on West Lane (in 2012 it is Bernard's Inn). His obituary information appeared in The Ridgefield Press 2/24/1927 and 9/1/1927 (possibly 3/1/1927)
