Mrs. Dora Webster Hammonds Barringer, 87, of Rt. 1 Mebane, formerly of Durham, died Wednesday night in the nursing division of the Memorial Hospital in Burlington.
Mrs. Barringer was born in Stokes County. For 13 years she lived with her son, Robert Lee Hammonds, who died in January. She was a member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ.
The funeral will be held at noon today in the Howerton-Bryan Funeral Chapel by Dr. William C. Smith Jr. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Patricia Sgro of Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Gladys Carr of Duluth, Minn.; one son, James Louie Hammonds of Florida; and one sister, Mrs. Ollie Ross McLamb of Durham.
