Mr. Virgil William "V.W." McDavid, age 83, of Joyce, La., passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005, at the Winn Parish Medical Center in Winnfield, La. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the Georgetown Lodge #258.
He was the son of the late Essie McDavid and the late Minnie (Long) McDavid.
He is survived by his wife Lucille McDavid of Joyce, La.;
Two Daughters, Barbara Johns of Tannehill, La. Gloria Folden and her husband Jack of Joyce, La.
One Son, Gary McDavid and his wife Mary of Joyce, La.
Seven grandchildren Eighteen great-grandchildren
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Monday, September 19, 2005 and from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2005. Funeral services will be at Southern Funeral Home at 3:00 PM Tuesday, September 20, 2005 , with Rev. Wallace Ingles and Rev.Lindsey Burns officiating. Interment will be at Jones Cemetery in Joyce, La.
