Zelma Jane Bose, 97, died Sunday (Nov. 24, 2002) at the Cambridge Manor.
She and her twin sister were born Aug. 9, 1905, to Ernest and Pearl (Newton) Guy at Stamford. She attended grade school in Stamford and graduated from Orleans High School. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She taught elementary school in Orleans, Oxford, Cambridge and Bartley.
On June 2, 1926, she married Clarence Bose in Orleans in a double wedding with her sister. They moved from Stamford to Cambridge in 1946 to a farm west of Cambridge.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church, receiving her 75-year pin in 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Abel; sisters, Adria Mullis, Margaruite Youngquist and Velma Wroot; and one grandchild.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Bose and wife, Colleen of Ten Sleep, Wyo.; daughter, Joyce Bose and fiance' Robert Sughroue of Cambridge; four sisters-in-law, Florence Evans of Torrance, Calif., Grace Kennedy of Oswego, N.Y., Donna Bose of Stamford and Bonnie Hunt of Beaver City; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, 11 a.m., at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Art Phillips officiating. Interment will be at the Stamford Cemetery at 2 p.m., at Stamford.
Memorials may be given in her name.
