Laura Elizabeth White was born on February 3, 1913, in Hubbard, Hill County, Texas, to Dr. Benjamin Oliver White and Harriet Elizabeth “Bess” Oliphint.
Laura was born a twin of a stillborn.
She had a younger sister, Benevelyn.
She resided with her family her entire life.

After her father’s passing, her mother taught in Galveston's Ball High School from 1934 until her retirement in 1959. While living in Galveston, she and her mother lived at Miss Anna Batt's house until 1938 and at Miss Alma Wells' house until 1958.
Her mother taught her whatever she knew. Laura maintained the home while her mother taught school. She had a great love of classical music.

The two of them moved to Sacramento, California to live with her sister, Benevelyn and her husband Martin, in May of 1966.
They resided at 1408 Teneighth Way in Sacramento, until her mother’s passing in 1988, and Laura’s passing in 1993 at the age of 80.
Mother and daughter’s urns are interred together in the East Lawn Mausoleum, in Sacramento.
