Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Mae Caples, 72, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Oakley-Metcalf Chapel with the Rev. O. E. Johnson and the Rev. J. N. Crippen officiating. Interment was in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Caples of 413 Montrose, died at her residence Friday morning. She was born on March 31, 1893 in Angelina County and had resided here most of her life.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Arvil Johnson of Pollok, Mrs. Bertie Stoddard of Hackberry, La., Mrs. Sadie Ray Wilson and Mrs. Annie Mae Lee of Zavalla; two sons, Odell Caples of Silsbee and Cloyd Caples of Houston; two brothers, George Hadaway of Beaumont and Charlie Hadaway of Lufkin; two sisters, Mrs. Edie Brooks and Mrs. Ellen Lee, both of Lufkin; 22 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
