By 1905 Harry had moved to Binghamton, New York and was living with his brother Frederick Burch Wells and Frederick's wife Experience.
Harry married Elizabeth Rebecca Tisdell 26 June 1907 in Binghamton, New York. They had three children: Marion Charlotte; Nellie Loletta; Elizabeth Agnes. The family was renting a home at 13 Duane Avenue in Binghamton. They later bought the home. Up until 1913 Harry was employed as a chauffeur, then he became an auto mechanic in a garage.
Sometime between 1920 to 1924 the family decided to move to Los Angeles County, California for a better life. Harry, wife Elizabeth, the three daughters, and one of Elizabeth's sisters all piled into Harry's Franklin touring car and drove across country. They had many adventures along the way. They ended up living in Whittier, California.
Harry died of peritonitis due to appendicitis.

Harry E. Wells, formerly of 13 Duane Ave., this city, died Thursday in Whittier, California, following a serious operation. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; three daughters, Marion, Nellie and Elizabeth, and two brothers, George Wells of California and Fred Wells of this city.
