James LeRoy Bevens Jr., 43, of Conover, joined God on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009 in his residence.

Jim was born on June 3, 1966 at Wright Patterson Air Force Bass, Fairborn, a son of James LeRoy Sr. and Karla (Gilly) Bevens, who survive in London.

He is also survived by his special friend, Henrietta Spaugy; four children, Christina Bevens, Jamie (Scott) Pope, Ryan Bevens, and Michele Dehart (David Hopper). He was a loving papa to five grandchildren, Lillian Hall, Cameron and Ashlyn Pope, and Luke and Caitlyn Dehart. Other survivors include two brothers, Bon (Cindy) Bevens and Tony (Amy) Bevens; and the mother of his children, Tangesla Bevens.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Bula"Boots" Slagel.

Jim was a 1984 graduate of Madison Plains High School and worked as a truck driver for Sidney Transportation Services.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009 in the Renewed Strength Church, 4194 W. U.S. Highway 36, Westville, OH. Reverend Mark Hackworth will be presiding. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery, Rosewood.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the church.
