ALTON P. HOWER DIES IN FLORIDA
Alton P. Hower, 69, of Deerfield Beach , Fla. , a native of Decatur , died at 12:25 p.m. Thursday at the North Broward hospital in Pompano Beach , Fla. He had been seriously ill for the past two weeks.
He was born in Decatur Oct. 9, 1903, a son of Dallas and Lucy Stalter Hower, and was married to the former Helen Sweargingen March 23, 1968.
Mr. Hower, a retired food broker, was a member of the Elks lodge at Fort Wayne .
Surviving are his wife; and three sisters, Mrs. Leota Ford of Muncie , Mrs. Vera Dailey of Paulding, O., and Mrs. Mabel Sowers of Ridgeville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Zwick funeral home in this city, with Rev. Harold Leininger officiating. Burial will be in the Decatur cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Preferred memorials are to the Heart Fund.
