Mrs. Anne Evelyn Poole, 77, widow of John Sprigg Poole, formerly vice-president of the Fidelity & Deposit Co. of Maryland, died Thursday at her home, 2219 California street, Washington. She had been in poor health for some time. Death was due to pneumonia.
Mrs. Poole, a member of an old Maryland family, was a native of Montgomery county, but spent most of her girlhood in Howard county. She had been a resident of Washington for 40 years and had long been a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of St. Andrew’s Episcopal church.
Surviving are two daughters, Miss Martha Sprigg Poole, a teacher at McKinley High School, and Miss Katherine Riggs Poole, both of Washington. Mrs. Poole’s husband died in 1914.
Funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Andrew’s Episcopal church. Burial in Monocacy cemetery, Beallsville.
