BRITTAIN - Elza Merl, 82, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 in Tulsa. He was born December 10, 1924 in Ames, OK, to Everett and Julia Brittain. After Graduating from Ames High School, Britt joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Radioman on the U.S.S. Ballou during World War II. After World War II, he met and married Genevieve Thompson, who preceded him in death in 1999. In 1977, Britt retired from The Federal Aviation Administration, after 31 years as an Air Traffic Controller. He is survived by: son, Dan Brittain and wife, Carolyn; daughter, Diane Lewis and husband, Gary; granddaughter, Ginny Turnham and husband, Zack; and 2 great-grandchildren, Katie and Caleb. He is also survived by: 3 sisters, Valva Hawk, Enid, Aileen Crawford, Watonga, OK, Dorothy Skalenda, Lubbock, TX; 2 brothers, Raymond Brittain, Enid, Clarence Brittain and wife Virginia; and a multitude of loving nieces and nephews and longtime friends.
