Lorus Winfield Hulbert died Oct 31 at Jewell County Hospital Long Term Care, Mankato.
Lorus was born Oct 9, 1930 in Webster County, Neb. He was the eldest son of Winfield and Sylvia (Karnatz) Hulbert.
The family moved to Iowa in 1936. Lorus attended school at Coon Rapids, Iowa. After graduation he went to Montana to live with Aunt Irene and Uncle Glen York. In October, 1950, he enlisted in the Air Force and after basic training was sent to Germany to serve until his discharge in November, 1953. He worked at the cement plant in Superior.
He was united in marriage to Merla Silsby, April 8, 1956.
Lorus belong to VFW Post 7830 and the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club.
He was proceeded in death by his mother and father.
Lorus is survived by his wife Merla; sons, Rex, Arlington, Texas; Alan, Valley Center, Kan. and James, Mankato; brothers, Myron, Mankato and George, Long Beach, Calif; sisters, Donna Vannetta, Marshalltown, Iowa, Lois Jean LaFary, Grimes, Iowa; Darlene Hulbert, Alden, Iowa and Joan Jackson, Rogers, Ark.
Services were held Nov 3 at the Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato, with Pastor Kendal Utt officiating. Interment followed in the Esbon Cemetery, Esbon, Kansas.
