He was retired from the Navy after 21 years' service and was retired also from Naval Air Station after 23 years' service. He was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, Lens Avenue.
Other survivors include two daughters, Marion Dukes of Fort Riley, Kansas, and Linda Barron of Norfolk; six sisters, Helen Barron and Mary Barron of Chicago, Mildred Brock of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Bertha Williams of Cleveland, Ola Mae Barron of Youngstown, Ohio, and Edna Terrell of Anniston, Ala.; three brothers, Frank Barron of Fort Lauderdale, Walter Lee Barron of Anniston and Allen Barron of Buffalo, N.Y.; and a grandchild.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Hermon Baptist Church by Dr. James Powell. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park, with graves Funeral Home in charge. The body will be place in the church at noon.
