Frank HATCHER served as Pontotoc County deputy sheriff. At age 27, he was killed in a gun fight following an argument.

Ada Weekly News; July 29, 1909: HATCHER, Frank shot by negro last night about 7 p.m. at the colored picnic grounds on Jack Fork Creek south of Ada; died at 6 a.m. this morning at home of Jordan Abbott; HATCHER was an intermarried citizen; lived 7 miles south of Ada; brothers, Ben, Bill, Mart, Jack, and Bob HATCHER, were in attendance at funeral.
