Robert Lee Rainbolt, age 74, of Hooks, Texas, died Friday, January 25, 2008 at a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Rainbolt was born March 4, 1933 in Weatherford, Texas. He was a retired communication specialist, member of the First Baptist Church, Hooks, member of the Masonic Lodge and a U.S. army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
He was a man of quick wit and laughter, devoted to sports, community and family and reverent to the Lord and His house.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Blanche and Rev. Raymond Rainbolt, sister Dottie Burns and brother, Thomas Rainbolt.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years plus, Vera Louise Kirkland Rainbolt of Hooks, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Laura Lee Rainbolt of Conway Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Judalon and Anse Hinton of Wylie, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene and Barbara Rainbolt of Elm Grove, Louisiana; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ellen Schoenemann of Kilgore, Texas, Laura Belle and Jimmy Gorham of Memphis, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Stephanie Edmunds of Savannah, Georgia, Shannon Rainbolt of Little Rock, Arkansas, Wesley Rainbolt of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jay Hinton of Many, Louisiana; four great grandchildren, Sydnee Russ, Elizabeth Hinton, Dustin Hinton, Chase Edmunds and beloved nieces and nephews which all brought great joy into his life.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Skipper Rainbolt officiating. Entombment will be at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.
