I found a death certificate on him listing father as Robert and mother unknown. I do know two of his children named their sons Robert which leads me to believe this could be correct. However the death record is recorded in Adair Co. and did not list his middle name.
Keep in mind that those reporting the death sometimes have no idea who the parents of the deceased are and just provide an educated guess. I do think this is what happened in this case.
He was listed in the 1920 census and not the 1930 census. He married Missouri Catherine "Dink" Anderson in about 1864.
She passed on Aug. 20, of 1926 the year before he did and this could be why he was now in Adair County rather than Cumberland.
