Funeral Held for Annabella Child, Accident Victim

Leslie, the two year old son of Eugene and Ada barney of Annabella met with a fatal accident at his home, Monday, August 21, on his second birthday. Monday while crawling under a gate he became caught and presumably choked. Rushing him to a physician at Richfield, resuscitation methods proved of no avail.


Leslie was born August 21, 1931, at Annabella and besides his parents is survived by a four year old sister, Nadine and a 3 weeks old infant brother.


Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Annabella chapel with Bishop Glenn W. Thurston officiating. Musical numbers included two numbers by the choir under the direction of L. E. Davis, with Cleone Hawley at the piano, "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Sometime We'll Understand;" a duet, "Unanswered Yet," by W. S. Daniels and Ruth Cleave," and a solo, "A little Pink Rose," by Ruby Meyer of Richfield, accompanied by Illa Cleve. Speakers included Emily Giesdorff, Neal Savage, Albert Hooper, Ammon Roberts and prayers by Alfred Gauchat and J. Staker.


Four small boys, eleven years of age, cousins of Leslie, acted as pall bearers.


Among those from out-of-town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Barney and family, Mrs. Rose Barney and daughter Nettle, as well as other relatives. Frank Lowe dedicated the grave. Interment was in the Annabella cemetery.
