Melissa "Susie" Diane Hinchey, 45, of Waynesboro passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born April 20, 1964, in Knoxville, Tenn., daughter of Barbara Faye Busby of Crimora and Vonnie Crawford Jr. of Rockwood, Tenn.

Prior to her health failing, she was the district manager of Waffle House.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Daniel Hinchey of Waynesboro; one brother, Ray Crawford of Lawrenceville; one sister, Tammy Owens Williams and her husband, Tony, of Staunton; one aunt, Helen Baucum of Rockwood; three nephews, Kevin Owens and Brandon and Justin Crawford; one niece, Jessica Owens; one great-nephew, Christopher Owens; one great-niece, Brittney Owens and their mother, Jeannie Coffey; stepfather, Martin Busby of Crimora; and an aunt, Ella Collier of Rockwood. She also leaves behind special companions, her dogs.

A graveside service will be conducted at noon Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at Riverview Cemetery, with Pastor Keith May officiating.
