Funeral services were held here Saturday morning for W. V. (Vic) McBride, 69, Gatesville farmer, rancher, and a longtime resident of Coryell County. Mr. McBride died at 9 p. m. Thursday, April 10, in the local hospital, a half hour after he was stricken with a heart attack. He had been troubled with a heart ailment for several months.
Rev. G. L. Derrick conducted the funeral rites at the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial was in the Restland Cemetery, with Scott's in charge.
Pallbearers were J. D. McBride, Bailey McBride, Beryl Tippitt, J. W. Tippit, Finis Carroll and John Bradford.
Mr. McBride, a native of Bell County, lived in the Gatesville area nearly all his life. He devoted most of his time to his livestock enterprise.
A member of the Calvary Baptist Church, he was married to Miss Mary Ethel Bradford Aug. 23, 1908.
She died in January, 1955.
Mr. McBride had been making his home with his daughter, Mrs. Efton Carroll, at the State School.
In addition to his daughter, he is survived by one son, Dudley McBride of Azle; five sisters, Mrs.Dora Crawford of Waco and Mrs. Alton Donohue, Mrs. Willie Carroll, Mrs. Tom Pollard and Mrs. Lillie Fain, all of Killeen; two brothers, Percy McBride of Killeen and Dee McBride of Austin; and three grandchildren.
