Harrison Bible, for more than 40 years a resident of Allen county, died yesterday at his home three miles and a half northeast of this city, death resulting from lung trouble. The deceased had been in ailing health for a number of years.
He was born in Rockingham county, Virginia, in 1835, and when 22 years old located in Coshocton county Ohio, where he lived until the war broke out when he enlisted in the 16th O.V.I., and after only three months was honorably discharged, but he immmediately re-inlisted in the 51st O.V.I. and was in the engagements of Stone River, Murfreesboro, Spring Hill and Fort Donolson. At Murfreesboro he received a wound in the arm.
In 1864 he came to Allen county and shortly after locating he was married to Miss Sarah Good. Three sons survive. The funeral will occur at Union Chapel Friday morning at 10 o'clock, sun time.
