George Amos Dies At Home

Last rites are set Tuesday for George Thomas (Tom) Amos, 63, who died Sunday at 7:15 a.m. at his home, Trinity 1.
The TVA employee of 14 years had been ill for a year. He was widely known in this county.

The body will remain at Mutual Service Funeral home chapel on Grant Street until Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. when services will be conducted there by Rev. Floyd Parker. Burial will be in Roselawn cemetery with Mutual Service directing.

Surviving are the widow; seven sons Thomas B. Amos of Thomaston, Ga; Edward R.Amos, serving with the U.S. Paratroopers in Japan; Robert L. Amos of Moulton; Henry T., Douglas D. and Franklin Amos, all of Decatur; Jimmy Wayne Amos of Nashville; three daughters, Mrs. W.A. Shelton of Decatur; Naomi Faye Amos of Nashville and Mary Christine Amos of Trinity 1; two sisters, Mrs. J.R. Sams of Thomaston, Ga; and Miss Mary Amos of Thomaston, Ga; three stepsons and two stepdaughters.

TVA employees who will serve as active pallbearers are R.J. Gibson, A.J. McAnn, W.M. Davis, P.H. Dodson, Arnold Terry and Zenos O. Evans.
