Anna died 27 December 1917, found the morning of 28 December
1917. She was murdered. George put in jail by the 29th of January and charged with her murder on 26th of January 1918. He went to trial for her murder in March of 1918. He was convicted and sentenced to Prison for a term of 2 to 21 years. He is in Prison on the 1920 census but out by the 1930 census. He is listed as living with his daughter Georgia who is married to John S. Martin in Elkart, Indiana.

Court Decision: George was indicted by the grand jury in this county for the murder of the decedent herein, and was tried at the February, 1918 of this court by a jury and convicted of manslaughter, and sentenced to imprisonment in the State Prison for an indeterminate term from two to twenty-one years; that under section 2995 Burns' Annotated Statutes (1914) he is not entitled to share in any of the balance of hand for distribution in this estate.
