Martin Weimer and Peter Shire build the first house is the town of Salisbury somewhere around 1800. It was at the corner of what is now Ord and Grant streets. When Peter Shire died in 1847, the structure was listed in the estate settlement in the Somerset County Herald. It stated that it was a log structure with several out buildings.
