Ethredge Olean Ryan was born Monday, September 9, 1918 to William Ervin Ryan and Mary Lena Taylor Ryan.

Mr. Ryan was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. His enlistment was on Monday, June 29, 1942 in Evansville, Indiana.

He married Dora Lee Nelson, a daughter of Cicero Jackson "C.J." Nelson and Eliza Jane Leeth Nelson in August of 1947 in Morgan County, Alabama.

DECATUR -- E.O. "Ed" Ryan, 70, of Route 3, Decatur, died Tuesday at Parkway Medical Center.

The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Suit Baptist Church with the Rev. R.C. Borden, Jack Freeman and Joe Joiner officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Ryan was a veteran of World War II and was retired from Alabama Farmer's Cooperative.

Survivors include his wife, Dora Lee Ryan; four sons, Ronald Ray Ryan of Hartselle and Bobby Gene Ryan, Royce Steven Ryan and Danny Olean Ryan, all of Decatur; a sister, Teresa Crowley of Decatur; and five grandchildren.
