Ella Ann was born in Roby, Texas, to the late Adolph and Emma (Schreiber) Boortz. She married Albert Steinke on Nov. 26, 1936, and was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, who passed away March 11, 1995; an infant daughter; a grandchild, Lana Hughes; a great-grandchild, Katelyn Hughes; brother, Walter P. Boortz; and sisters, Louise Makowsky and Amanda Schneider;.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet Strunck and husband, Aubrey, of Mart; sons, Lloyd Steinke and wife, Mildred, of Elk and Gary Steinke, of Riesel; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Bertha Ryno, of Conroe; and numerous nieces, nephews and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Donald Steinke, Ronald Steinke, Ray Kadlacek, Glen Kadlacek, Jim Ryno and Jimmy Steinke.
Memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 106 S. Carpenter St. Mart, TX 76664.
