ARTHUR - Rebecca Hochstedler, 78, of Arthur died at 10:02 a.m. Monday (Aug. 24, 2009) at her residence. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Otto Center in Arthur with Bishop Howard Kuhns officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in rural Arcola. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today (Aug. 25) at the Otto Center and 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Otto Center. The Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola is assisting the family with the arrangements. She was born Feb. 6, 1931, in Arthur, the daughter of Andrew L. and Lydia Schrock Mast. She married Omer J. Hochstedler in 1953; he died in 2007. Survivors include one son, Dale Hochstedler of Mocksville, N.C.; one daughter, Marjorie Herschberger of Arcola; one brother, Fred Mast of Mifflinburg, Pa.; two sisters, Sovilla Gingerich and Anna Plank, both of Arthur; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. Mrs. Hochstedler was a member of the Pleasant View Church in rural Arcola.
