Mother of Mary Hutchings Hadsall
The sudden death of Mrs. George Hutchings at her home in this city last Friday morning came as a surprise to her many friends. She had been sick for about a week with an attack of pneumonia but her condition was not thought dangerous.
..Millie A. Becknall, was born in Clinton county, Ohio, November 27th., 1846, and moved with her parents to Appanoose county, Iowa, in early childhood, where she was married to George W. Hutchings, September 8th.' 1870, and where they resided for several years moving from there to Smith county, Kansas, in the year 1877, where she has since resided up to the time of her death which occured Friday, January 16th., 1914, at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 19 days.
..To this union was born two sons and two daughters, the two sons and one daughter dying in infancy. Those left to mourn her departure are the husband, one daughter, Mary, wife of E. J. Hadsell, two brothers, W. S. Becknall, of Jerome, Iowa, and D. A. Becknall, of Numa, Iowa, and one sister, Miss Jestina Becknall, of Numa, Iowa, also two grandchildren.
..Funeral services were conducted at the Christian Church Saturday morning at ten o'clock, conducted by the pastor Frank McDonald and interment made in the Olive Branch cemetery.
