Dicy Maggie Holman was the daughter of George T. Holman 1824–1884
and Mary Ann B. May 1828–1905. She was named Dicy after her paternal grandmother, Dicy Crabtree Holman. Her name varies through records Dicy, Dicie, Dessie, etc. Dicy married twice first to Charles H. Sawyers married 15 October 1861 Ellis, Texas, and they were the
parents of two children; Charles and Belzora Texana Sawyers. In 1870 [date from census] she married Herbert Augustus Loving and they lived in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas and were the parents of four known children; George Oliver Loving, Mary Myrtle Loving, Sam Clarence Loving,
and Orilla Ernest Loving. Dicy was born 1 Mar 1847 in Texas and died 24 Apr 1923 in Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas with burial in Fairview Cemetery on April 25, 1923. Dessie M. Loving is inscribed on her headstone.
