Daniel Greenberry Ralls 1851-1915

Daniel Greenberry Ralls was born February 18, 1851 in Novelty, Knox county, Missouri. H was the last child born to William Ralls and Catherine (Cockrum) Ralls.

His four siblings include; Bryant Ralls, James William Ralls, Benjamin Alexander Ralls and Floyd Morgan Ralls.

Daniel was raised on his father's farm in Missouri and worked as a blacksmith in his early adult life.

Daniel married Elnora Pratt on June 28, 1870 in Shelby county, Missouri. She was the daughter of James Pratt and Julia A. (Myers) Pratt.

They became the parents to four children; Annie M. Ralls, Etta K. Ralls, Lida May (Ralls) Kuhn and Roy Walter Ralls.

In 1884, Daniel migrated to the west, settling near the town of Joseph, in Wallowa county, Oregon. He set up a blacksmith business in the town of Joseph. In 1888, he sold his business and purchased land one mile north and one mile west of the town of Paradise, in Wallowa county, Oregon, establishing a homestead, raised stock and harvested timber. He also established another blacksmith business in the Paradise vicinity, and operated a sawmill which provided lumber to the surrounding trades.

Daniel passed away October 6, 1915 at his home in Paradise, Wallowa county, Oregon. He was 65 years old.

His funeral services were held October 7, 1915 at the Paradise Church and he was laid to rest in the Promise Cemetery, in the rural town of Paradise, in Wallowa county, Oregon.
