He was born in Marathon on June 30, 1901, the son of Lyman B. and Clara Beebe Watros.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Livermore Watros, a son Richard of Marathon;
two daughters, Norma Hults of Columbus, GA, and Marjorie Watros of Homer; a sister, Henrietta
Terni of Millerton, 10 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Mr. Watros graduated from Marathon High School and attended Syracus University, where he played
in the marching band. He also attended Oneonta Normal School.
He taught for six years in country schools in the Marathon area. He lived for over 70 years at
Woodlawn Farm where he was in partnership with his father and later his son. After retirement, he worked for Grumman Boats for 18 years.
Mr. Watros was a member for over 60 years at the Marathon Methodist Church and a former member of the Dairymen's League, NYABC and GLF cooperatives.
