Febr. 10th, near Richfield, Snyder Co., Pa. Preacher CHRISTIAN GRAYBILL, father of Bishop Jacob Graybill, at the advanced age of 86 years, 3 months and 8 days. He was a preacher 49 years. He was sick two weeks. He was taken with a chill, and still grew weaker. His suffering he bore with Christian patience unto the end. He retained his senses fo [sic] the last; his desire, while on his death bed, was that Jesus would come soon. He was buried on the 13th at the family burying-ground, called Graybill's burying-ground, followed by a large concourse of friends and relatives, upon which occasion appropriate remarks were make by the brethren John R. Snyder, from John 17: 11; and Samuel Winey, from Eph. 6:17, and Luke 2:23-30.
He was the father of 11 children, 58 grand-children, 7 great grand- children. (Herald of Truth - Vol. XIII, No. 3 - March 1876 - Obituary)
