Bettilou P. Ferge, 81, of 7700 W. Portland Ave., Wauwatosa, and formerly of Horicon, died on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at her home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, Jan. 29, at 1 p.m., at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 18255 W. Capital Drive, Brookfield. The Rev. David Reith will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Mayville. Friends may call on Thursday, Jan. 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church.
Bettilou was born on Sept. 26, 1927, in Detroit, Mich., to Carl and Isabelle (Morris) Purrman. She was married to George R. Ferge on June 8, 1968, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mayville.
Bettilou was a 1946 graduate of Mayville High School, and graduated from Mt. Mary College, Milwaukee and received her master's degree from UW-Milwaukee. She taught in the founding program of occupational therapy at Mt. Mary College. She was currently employed with CVS Pharmacy. She was a member of Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, West Allis. Bettilou enjoyed theater, gardening, had an active interest in Mt. Mary College, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband in 1990.
