ROBERTS - Orville James Albertson, 84, of Roberts, Idaho, died July 17, 2001, at Idaho Falls Care Center. He was born March 12, 1917, in Coltman, Idaho, to Francis Albertson and Elizabeth Robinson Albertson. He was raised and attended school in Coltman, Osgood, and Ammon. On Jan. 15, 1936, he married Lucille Petersen in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. She preceded him in death. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He sang throughout his life at weddings, church gatherings, funerals, senior citizen competitions and many other social events. Orville enjoyed his horses. Survivors include his daughters, Arlene Hunt (Farrell) of Roberts, Janice Tychsen (Gordon) of Rexburg, Pat Waters (Gordon) of Alpine, Utah, Cheryl Lloyd (Roger) of Mesa, Ariz., Judy Campbell (Dan) of Idaho Falls, Sandi Diamond (Jim) of Salt Lake City and Mechelle Butte (Jeff) of Shelley, Idaho; sons, Wes Albertson (Elaine) of Roberts, Lyle Albertson (Bernetta) of Roberts, Rex Albertson (Diffy) of Franktown, Colo., and Kort Albertson (Ann) of Roberts; 45 grandchildren; 68 great grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Roger, Francis, Merrill, Billy, and Raymond; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Roberts Stake Center with Bishop Mitch Scott officiating. The family will meet with friends from Friday 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. before services, both at the church. Burial will be in the Grant Central Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Funeral Home in Rigby.
