Although Sherman's stone gives his birthdate as April 25, 1891, the census information for three decades indicates he was born in April of 1892. This makes sense, since the birthdate on his sister Lola's stone is April 6, 1891. Hers may be incorrect, too, since the 1900 census gives her birthdate as Aug 1888.

Sherman was married twice, the second time to Maggie Jane Mooneyham.

Sherman died of a cerebral accident, probably a stroke, according to his death certificate.
