He was married on 30 October 1813 to Sarah Palmer,of Little Compton,Rhode Island.
They were the parents of these known children:
~ Thomas Palmer Goodyear,born 16 July 1814;
~ Alvin Goodyear,born 29 June 1816,died 4 November 1859;
~ Sarah Maria Goodyear,born 6 January 1819;
~ Emily Goodyear,born 18 July 1822;
~ Edwin Taylor Goodyear,born 24 July 1824,died 30 March 1888.
