WERE WED 50 YEARS AGO
Mr. and Mrs. James Elliott Honored on Golden Wedding Anniversary

Today, October 15, marks the 50th anniversary of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. James Elliott of Forest Street. The wedding took place at Rolla, MO., where the couple lived several years, moving from there to Aurora and then to Carthage. They have been residents of Carthage more than 30 years.
The anniversary was observed yesterday by the couple who held a reception for their friends and relatives at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Irving Hunter, 1116 Oak street. Their nine children and their families were present and many friends called during the afternoon to extend congratulations. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott received a number of lovely gifts.
Mr. Elliott, who is 73 years old, was a stone mason here for many years, having retired from active work several years ago. Mrs. Elliott is 69. Both are in good health.
The children are: Mrs. Charles Hargis, 1040 Forest street; Mrs. Jeff Mahan, Brooklyn Heights; Mrs. Charles Galbraith, Spring City, MO.; Max Elliott, Treece, KS.; Rowe Elliott, Neosho; Mrs. J. I. Hunter of Oak Street; Mrs. W. H. Stout, Kansas City; Mrs. Wallace Hancock, Carthage route 3 and Frank Elliott, who makes his home with his parents.
