He married Phidelia V. Langdon, daughter of John Langdon and Phoebe Fields. Son, Willis W. Roberts, was born to their union. He became well known in the oil fields of Oklahoma. John and family moved to Ohio where he worked and died in the oil and gas fields. His remains were brought back to Elgin, PA for burial.
